The applicant must provide the following:
- Proof of acceptance to a school of higher education.
- Financial need.
- Submit an essay of 50-word minimum up to 100-word maximum. The subject
is to be picked by the scholarship chairman and a committee of two
chosen by the scholarship chairman.
- Neatness will count.
- The chairman must receive the scholarship application by the March
Business meeting.
- The amount of the scholarship to be given will vary according to
the vote of the membership.
A certificate will be given. The Rockland Emblem Club #200 will issue
a check, after evidence of a C average, in the amount of the scholarship
to the school or applicant at the end of the first semester in the name
of the winning student to further their education.
Guidelines for Choosing Scholarship Recipients
Three Past Presidents will be chosen to mae sure the applications meet
the above criteria, the three judges will be chosen from the community
by the chairman. The application will have a cover sheet with all the
pertinent information; this will be removed at the time of the judging
and a number assigned. Only after the judging is complete the winners
will be notified. These scholarships will be awarded at the installation
of officers in April. If there are no applications for the scholarship,
the money will be set-aside for the next year.
